Cmdr. Jeffrey Ransom

Commanding Officer

Originally from Connecticut, Commander Jeff Ransom graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in History.

At sea, CDR Ransom served as a Division Officer on USS BREMERTON (SSN 698), stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI; as Engineer Officer on USS PITTSBURGH (SSN 720), stationed in Groton, CT; and as Executive Officer of USS MINNESOTA (SSN 783), also stationed in Groton, CT. During these tours, he deployed once to the Western Pacific and twice to the European Command area of operations.

Ashore, he served as a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps instructor in Boston, MA; as Submarine Squadron FOUR Engineer in Groton, CT; and as Officer Personnel and Policy Assistant in the Line Locker, Naval Reactors Headquarters, in Washington, D.C.

CDR Ransom holds a Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He is most proud of his various unit awards that reflect credit on the many skilled professionals he was privileged to work alongside.
