CMDCM(SS) Brett Olivieri

Brett Olivieri grew up in Houma, Louisiana, where he enlisted in the Navy in September 2001. Olivieri’s military training and certification includes Master Training Specialist; Chief of the Boat Program; Submarine Anti-Terrorism Officer; Quality Assurance Supervisor; and Ammunition Administration Manager. He attended the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 196) in May 2016 and the COB/CMC School (Class 207) in February 2020 located in Newport, Rhode Island.

Afloat, Master Chief Olivieri reported to USS Columbus (SSN 762) in March 2002 where he completed two Western Pacific Deployments and an Eastern Pacific Deployment. He then served as the Torpedoman Leading Petty Officer onboard USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730) (Gold), where he completed two Strategic Patrols and was selected to Chief Petty Officer in 2010. He then reported to USS Connecticut (SSN 22), where he completed an Artic Exercise Deployment and a Western Pacific Deployment. He then served as the Senior Enlisted Leader at Detachment Undersea Research and Development onboard the USS JIMMY CARTER (SSN 23), where he successfully completed three CNO Priority One Taskings vital to National Security. He then served as Chief of the Boat onboard USS HENRY M. JACKSON (SSBN 730) (GOLD) from March 2020 to June 2022, where he completed two Strategic Patrols and was awarded the STRATCOM OMAHA TROPHY for the best SSBN in the fleet. He was then hand selected to serve as Chief of the Boat onboard USS JIMMY CARTER (SSN-23) from June 2022 to January 2024, where he successfully completed four CNO priority One Taskings vital to National Security.

Ashore, Master Chief Olivieri served as a Torpedo Instructor and evaluator at TRIDENT Training Facility (Bangor) from January 2007 to December 2009. His next assignment was serving on staff of Commander, Submarine Development Squadron Five as the Squadron Torpedoman from November 2012 to October 2016, where he was advance to Senior Chief in 2015.

He most recently reported in February 2024 as Command Master Chief of Theater Undersea Surveillance Command Atlantic.

Master Chief Olivieri is entitled to wear the Enlisted Submarine Warfare and the Deep Submergence Insignia. He’s authorized to wear the Navy Commendation Medal (Six Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Six Awards), Presidential Unit Citation (2 Awards), Battle Efficiency (5 Awards), and various other campaign, service and unit awards.
