Commander Matthew Wolf
Commanding Officer
Commander Matthew Wolf, a native of Nacogdoches, Texas, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Master of Science in Engineering Science from Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
Following commissioning via Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida and initial nuclear propulsion training he reported to USS WYOMING (SSBN 742) homeported in Kings Bay, Georgia where he served as Chemistry and Radiological Controls Assistant and Communications officer. As a department head, he served as Navigator/Operations Officer and Engineer Officer onboard USS ALBANY (SSN 753) in Norfolk, Virginia. He later served as Executive Officer on USS COLORADO (SSN 788) and PCU OREGON (SSN 793) in Groton, Connecticut.
Ashore, Commander Wolf completed tours at Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit Charleston, South Carolina and later as Submarine Propulsion Inspector for President, Board of Inspection and Survey in Norfolk, Virginia. He served on the staff of Commander, Submarine Forces Pacific and was most recently assigned as Deputy Commander for Readiness at Submarine Squadron ONE in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Commander Wolf is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation medal, Navy-Marine Corps achievement medal, and various unit and personal awards.
