CDR Nicholas Roa

Commanding Officer, Blue Crew, USS Henry M. Jackson
Commander Nicholas Roa is a native of Prairie Village, Kansas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the United States Naval Academy in 2005. He also earned a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree from The Naval Post Graduate School in 2013 and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from The Eisenhower School at National Defense University in 2021.
His prior sea tours were as a Division Officer on USS SAN FRANCISCO (SSN 711), Weapons Officer on USS OHIO (SSGN 726)(BLUE), Operational Safety Officer on USS MICHIGAN (SSGN 727)(BLUE), and Executive Officer on USS OHIO (SSGN 726)(GOLD). His experiences at sea include three Western Pacific deployments.
His shore assignments include Shift Engineer on MTS-626, NPTU, Charleston, SC, Squadron Weapons officer, Submarine Squadron 19, Bangor, WA, and Presidential Strike Advisor in the National Military Command Center, Joint Staff, Pentagon.
