Travel

Military Airlift Command (MAC) is now recognized as AMC (Air Mobility Command). AMC operates Space-A (Space Available), which is air travel on DoD owned or controlled aircraft. These flights are commonly known as MAC flights. For informational purposes, such flights will hereby be referred to as “Space-A”. When space and mission allow, military personnel and their dependents may travel almost anywhere in the world on these flights at little cost. Space-A flights are accessible in Guam from Andersen Air Force Base. It is recommended that travelers allow flexibility in their travel dates and carefully review eligibility and required documents prior to travel.

Travel status and priority levels for flights are detailed below: 

CATEGORY 1  CIV or MIL Dependent on Emergency Leave (EMERGENCY LEAVE CHIT REQUIRED)  
CATEGORY 2 Environmental Morale Leave (EML) (ACCOMPANIED W/SPONSOR)(LEAVE CHIT AND EML FORM REQUIRED) Twice a year and can't be conducted within first and last six months onboard. 
CATEGORY 3 Active Duty on Ordinary Leave/House Hunting (LEAVE CHIT REQUIRED)
CATEGORY 4 Environmental Morale Leave (EML) Unaccompanied Dependents (EML FORM and Command Sponsor Letter Required) 
CATEGORY 5 Permissive TDY or TAD/Student Travel/Overseas Command - Sponsored Dependents (Command Sponsor Letter Required)
CATEGORY 6 Retired Military Personnel
