CMDCM (SS/SW/DV) Casey Tapley

Master Chief Casey Tapley, a native of Swainsboro, Georgia, enlisted in the U.S. Navy through the delayed entry program, reporting to basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois in February 2004. Upon completion of basic training, Master Chief Tapley attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School (BESS) in Groton, Connecticut and Electronics Technician Communications “A” School in Kings Bay, Georgia.

His at-sea assignments include USS Florida (SSGN 728) as a Communications Electronics Technician, completing the SSGN conversion, and a EUCOM, AFRICOM, CENTCOM Deployment. USS Frank Cable (AS 40) as ship superintendent for multiple deployed units. USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723) as the Communications LCPO and Navigation/Operations Department Enlisted Advisor completing two WESTPAC deployments. He attended the Senior Enlisted Academy resident course in June 2019 and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat capstone course in June 2020 before reporting to USS Nevada Blue (SSBN-733) as Chief of the Boat, where he completed a CNO availability and 2 strategic deterrent patrols.

Ashore, his assignments include the staff of Submarine Squadron Seventeen as the Assistant Communications Officer, and the Command Master Chief of Submarine Readiness Squadron 31. In May 2025 he reported to COMSUBRON 7 where he currently serves.

His decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (4 awards), five Battle “E” awards and various unit and campaign awards.
