CDR Michael Woodcock

CDR Michael A. Woodcock was raised in Warr Acres, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Navy in August 1988. Upon completion of recruit training, he attended Machinist’s Mate “A” School in Orlando, Florida and then completed Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton, CT in Nov of 1989. His enlisted tours of duty include: USS GEORGIA (SSBN 728) in Bangor, WA as an Auxiliary Division mechanic where he earned his submarine warfare qualifications; Trident Refit Facility in Bangor, WA as an outside Machinery Repairman on TRIDENT and special projects submarines; USS FLORIDA (SSBN 729) in Bangor, WA as the Auxiliary Division Leading Petty Officer; and USS ASHEVILLE (SSN 758) in Pearl Harbor, HI as the Leading Chief Petty Officer, which included a homeport move to Bremerton, WA in Dec 2001 where he coordinated the Depot Modernization Period.

Chief Woodcock was commissioned to Ensign in August 2002 through the Limited Duty Officer program. His Officer tours of duty include: USS EMORY S. LAND (AS39) in LaMaddalena, Italy, where he served as Damage Control Assistant and Auxiliaries Division Officer and earned his Surface Warfare Officer qualifications; the floating dry-dock, ARCO (ARDM 5) in San Diego, CA, as Docking Officer; USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40) in Guam where he served as the Main Propulsion Assistant until its conversion to MSC; Naval Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pacific Northwest, in Bangor, WA as the Mechanical Branch Officer; back to the floating dry-dock, ARCO, where he served as the Executive Officer; Naval Special Warfare Logistics and Support Unit THREE in Pearl City, HI as the Repair Officer of SEAL Delivery Vehicles and Dry Deck Shelters; and TRIDENT Refit Facility, King’s Bay, GA as the Weapons Repair Officer; and at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) where he served as the Officer In Charge. CDR Woodcock assumed the duties as USS FRANK CABLE’s Executive Officer in July 2021.

CDR Woodcock is authorized to wear the Surface Warfare Officer insignia, Enlisted Submarine Warfare insignia, two Meritorious Service Medals, six Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, eight Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, the Navy Unit Commendation Medal, and various other personal and service decorations.
