Commander Michael Rodriguez

Executive Officer

Commander Mike Rodriguez, from Las Vegas, NV graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and earned a Master in Business Administration from National University.

At sea, Commander Rodriguez served as a division officer onboard USS Chicago (SSN 721) from 2006 to 2009, during which he completed two Western Pacific deployments. He served as the weapons officer onboard USS Alabama (SSBN 731) Blue from 2012 to 2015, during which he completed four strategic patrols. As executive officer on USS Michigan (SSGN 727) Blue from 2018 to 2020 where he completed one Western Pacific deployment and commenced a two year Chief of Naval Operations availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

Ashore, Commander Rodriguez has served as submarine operations liaison officer at Naval Special Warfare Group Three, as operations officer strategic systems programs, chief of training and exercises for plans and policy at U.S. Strategic Command, and Deputy Commander Submarine Squadron Fifteen. CDR Rodriguez assumed the duties as USS FRANK CABLE’s Executive Officer in March 2024.

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (three awards) as well as multiple unit and service awards.
