Cmdr. Gregory Storer
Commanding Officer, USS Springfield
Commander Greg Storer is a native of Branford, Connecticut, and is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering. He also holds a Master of Business Administration, focused in Defense Financial Management, from the Naval Postgraduate School.
At sea, Commander Storer served as a Division Officer aboard USS DALLAS (SSN 700), completing two deployments to the Middle East, and as the Navigator and Operations Officer aboard USS HARTFORD (SSN 768), where he completed a deployment to the North Atlantic. He served as the Executive Officer aboard USS OHIO (SSGN 726) (BLUE), returning her to operations in the Pacific following an extended maintenance period.
Ashore, he served as the Congressional Liaison for Science and Technology Programs at the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs, and most recently he served as the Congressional Appropriations Liaison for Undersea Warfare and Intelligence Programs in the Department of the Navy Appropriations Matters Office (FMBE) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C).
Commander Storer has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign and unit awards, including the Battle Efficiency ‘E’ and Navy Unit Commendation.
