Cmdr. Damiean Johnson

CDR Robert Rose

A native of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Commander Damiean M. Johnson enlisted in the Navy in 1995 and earned his commission via the Seaman to Admiaral-21 program, graduating from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics. He also holds a Master of Education degree in Secondary Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma.

Afloat, Commander Johnson served as a nuclear Machinist’s Mate aboard USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) where he made two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. His submarine assignments include USS HOUSTON (SSN 713), where he served as Communications Officer and the Chemical and Radiological Controls Assistant, Engineer Officer aboard USS NEBRASKA BLUE (SSBN 739), and Executive Officer aboard USS TOLEDO (SSN 769). During his sea tours, he completed several missions vital to national security, USS NEBRASKA’s return to service, including a refueling overhaul and demonstration and shakedown operations, and began USS TOLEDO’s Engineered Overhaul.

Ashore, Commander Johnson served as an instructor at Nuclear Power Training Unit Ballston Spa, an Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the University of Oklahoma, the Operations Officer at Unmanned Undersea Vehicle Squadron ONE, and as a Strike Advisor at USNORTHCOM.

Commander Johnson’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Award, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), as well as multiple unit and service awards.
