Kentucky departs for first strategic mission since 2011

PUGET SOUND, Wash. (March 13, 2016) - The Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Kentucky (SSBN 737) departs Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor for the boat's first strategic deterrent patrol since 2011. The boat recently completed a 40-month Engineered Refueling Overhaul, which will extend the life of the submarine for another 20 years.
