BANGOR, Wash. (Aug. 9, 2018) - Cmdr. Jason Geddes, right, from Indianapolis, Indiana, is relieved by Cmdr. Jim Lembo, from Mesa, Arizona, during a change of command ceremony for the Blue crew of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Nebraska (SSBN 739). Under the leadership of Geddes, the crew recently returned from their first strategic deterrent patrol since 2013, following an extended engineered refueling overhaul. PUGET SOUND, Wash. (July 12, 2018) The Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Nebraska (SSBN 739) transits the Hood Canal as it returns home Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor following the boat's first strategic patrol since 2013. Nebraska recently completed a 41-month engineered refueling overhaul, which will extend the life of the submarine for another 20 years.
