USS Cheyenne (SSN 773), the final Los Angeles-class submarine, is the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her keel was laid down on July 6, 1992, launched on April 16, 1995 and commissioned on Sept. 13, 1996. CHEYENNE is one of the most capable nuclear attack submarines in the world.

CHEYENNE's crew typifies the high level of knowledge, skill and reliability found in members of the United States Submarine Force. Their superb professionalism, loyal dedication and faithful service are the backbone of CHEYENNE. These dedicated Americans of diverse backgrounds, represent almost every state in the Union and share a common goal; to operate the finest ship in the Navy at the forefront of our nation's defense.
