Master Chief Keith Brogren

Command Master Chief

Master Chief Brogren is a native of Grantsburg, WI. He graduated from Grantsburg Senior High School in 1994 and enlisted in the Navy in May 1998. He attended basic training, Advanced Electronics’ Technical Core, and Electronics’ Technician A-School at Recruit and Navy Training Command in Great Lakes, IL. He attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton, CT and Central Navigation Computer Technician C-School in Bangor, WA. His academic achievements include the Senior Enlisted Academy and the Chief of the Boat (COB)/Command Master Chief (CMC) Capstone course.

At sea, Brogren reported for duty as an Electronics' Technician aboard USS Alabama (SSBN 731B); as Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Michigan (SSGN 727G) . As ANAV, his division received the Navigation “N” award as recognition for their high standards of performance in that mission area for 2018 and 2019. He served as Chief of the Boat aboard USS Michigan (SSGN 727G). During his tour, his crew was awarded the Arleigh Burke Fleet Trophy as recognition for exceptional improvement in combat readiness and operational excellence; the battle “E” efficiency award to recognize their high standards of performance in the command’s mission areas for 2023 and 2024; the Navy Unit Commendation for displaying superb operational planning and risk management during the completion of three highly successful missions vital to national security; and Navy Expeditionary Service medals for operations conducted in 2023 and 2024.

Brogren’s shore assignments include service as an instructor, Leading Petty Officer, Master Training Specialist, and Command Evaluation Team Member at Trident Training Facility Bangor; as enlisted submarines and Nuclear Program Officer Candidate program manager at Commander Navy Recruiting Command; and as Assistant Navigator aboard Submarine Squadron 19.

He reported as Command Master Chief, Theater Undersea Surveillance Command, Pacific in April 2026.

His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (seven awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
