SILVERDALE, Wash. - Cmdr. Matthew Freniere and Cmdr. Jason Glab salute Capt. Charles McLenithan, commodore, Submarine Squadron 17 during a change of command ceremony for Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730) Gold crew July 19. Freniere was properly relieved as commanding officer by Cmdr. Jason Glab during the ceremony held aboard USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN 730) while underway. This event demonstrated how the Navy and its strategic forces are thinking, acting and operating differently to meet deterrent mission tasking while simultaneously executing necessary ship lifecycle events.
