Capt. Chris Hedrick

CAPT Chris Hedrick, a native of Glendale, California, enlisted in the Navy Nuclear program in 1995. He attended Oregon State University under the Nuclear Enlisted Commissioning Program in July 1997 and was later commissioned at Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL in November 2000. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Oregon State University and a Master of Engineering Management from Cornell University. He has also completed the Submarine Scuba Diving course at the Naval Dive and Salvage Training Center in Panama City, FL.

CAPT Hedrick commanded USS SANTA FE (SSN 763) and USS CHARLOTTE (SSN 766) in Pearl Harbor, HI and has completed six Western Pacific deployments to the Seventh Fleet operating area. He served as the Executive Officer of USS COLUMBIA (SSN 771), Combat Systems Officer of USS CHARLOTTE (SSN 766), and as a Division Officer on USS CHEYENNE (SSN 773).

CAPT Hedrick's most recent assignment was as the USINDOPACOM Special Programs Division Chief (J3X), where he coordinated special operations for the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility. Before reporting to USINDOPACOM he served as the Deputy Commander for Training and Operations at Submarine Squadron Seven, where he trained and deployed five submarines. While at Squadron SEVEN, he took command of USS CHARLOTTE (SSN 766) for five months and assisted in the transition of the ship from the shipyard. He previously served as the PERS-42 Branch Head and Submarine Executive Officer Assignments Detailer at the Naval Personnel Command in Millington, TN. He also served as the Submarine Tactics Department Head at the Naval Submarine Training Center Pacific in Pearl Harbor, HI and as a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps instructor at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
