Lieutenant Commander Brian R. Sorge enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1998 where he reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, Illinois for basic training. After completing RTC, he reported to Electronics Technician “A” School at Service School Command Naval Training Center Great Lakes, Illinois.
Lieutenant Commander Sorge’s Operational tours include USS Rainier (AOE-7), USS Frank Cable (AS-40), USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108), USS Princeton (CG 59), and USS Boxer (LHD 4).
Ashore tours include Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nevada, Center for Surface Combat Systems detachment Great Lakes, Illinois, COMSIXTHFLT in Naples, Italy, and NIWC Pacific.
Lieutenant Commander Sorge was commissioned as an Electronics Material Officer on 1 April 2014.
Lieutenant Commander Sorge holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from Thomas Edison University.
Lieutenant Commander Sorge assumed the duties as Executive Officer at Mobile Mine Assembly Group on 17 February 2026.
Personal military awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), AFCEA Copernicus Award, and various unit and campaign decorations.
