CMDCM(SS) Tyrone Elliott
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Elliott is a native of East Orange, New Jersey and Bowman, South Carolina. He enlisted in the United States Navy and graduated from basic training in August 1993.
Master Chief Elliott completed the Submarine Sonar “A-School” in 1994 and was assigned to the USS PITTSBURGH (SSN 720) in Groton, Connecticut where he completed two deployments. From there, he attended the AN/BQQ-5E Sonar Pipeline before transferring to USS LOUISVILLE (SSN 724) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 2003. In 2006, he transferred to USS FLORIDA (SSGN 728) where he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer and immediately transferred the to the USS GEORGIA (SSGN 729), both located in Kings Bay, Georgia where he served as Sonar Division Leading Chief Petty Officer and Weapons Department Enlisted Advisor. His first shore assignment, in 2010, was at Submarine Squadron 6 in Norfolk, Virginia as the Squadron Sonarman eventually earning the position as the Senior Enlisted Leader. In 2013, he was assigned to USS RHODE ISLAND (SSBN 740)(GOLD) as Chief of the Boat, stationed in Kings Bay, GA. In December 2015 the ship changed homeports to Norfolk Naval Ship Yard, Norfolk, VA. In September 2016 he took the role of Command Master Chief of COMSUBRON 21 in Manama, Bahrain. Master Chief Elliott reported to Navy Ocean Processing Facility, Dam Neck in August 2018.
Master Chief Elliott’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (six awards), and Navy Good Conduct Medal (eight awards).
