PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii - 171109-N-KV911-0154 PEARL HARBOR (Nov. 9, 2017) Sailors from the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Olympia (SSN 717) prepare to greet their loved ones following their return from a six-month deployment, Nov. 9. USS Olympia is the second ship of the Navy to be named after Olympia, Washington. Commissioned on Nov. 17, 1984, Olympia is the 29th ship of the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarines.
