COMMANDER COREY A. POORMAN
Commanding Officer, USS PASADENA (SSN 752)

Commander Poorman, a native of Severna Park, MD, graduated with distinction as a Trident Scholar from the United States Naval Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Commander Poorman’s sea tours include various Division Officer assignments on USS PARCHE (SSN 683) from January 2001 to April 2004, Engineer and Navigator/Operations Officer on USS JEFFERSON CITY (SSN 759) from January 2007 to April 2010, and Executive Officer on USS JIMMY CARTER (SSN 23) from November 2012 to October 2014 during which he completed five overseas deployments.

Commander Poorman’s shore tours include assignment as Flag Aide to Director, Submarine Warfare Division, OPNAV N77, Submarine Department Head Sea Detailer for Navy Personnel Command, PERS-42, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans, Exercise, and Engagement (N5/N7) to Commander, Submarine Group SEVEN.

Commander Poorman reported to USS PASADENA (SSN 752) in October, 2017 and relieved as the submarine’s fourteenth Commanding Officer.

Commander Poorman is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, Navy Commendation Medal with four gold stars, the Navy Achievement Medal with three gold stars, and various unit awards.
