Commander Steven Faulk
Commanding Officer, USS Jacksonville (SSN 699)
Commander Faulk attended the University of Washington from 1993 to 1997. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree of Science in Ceramics Engineering, he pursued his life-long dream of becoming a submariner, receiving a commission through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida in 1997.
Commander Faulk served from 1999 to 2002 on board USS TUCSON (SSN 770) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and deployed to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf. He served as Engineer Officer on board USS KENTUCKY (SSBN 737 GOLD) from 2004 to 2007, conducting five strategic deterrent patrols and completing an Extended Refit Period. He served as Executive Officer on board USS SANTA Fe (SSN 763) from 2010 to 2013, deploying to the Western Pacific. These submarines earned four Battle Efficiency "E" awards, a Meritorious Unit Commendation and a Navy Unit Commendation.
Commander Faulk's shore assignments include Undersea Requirements Officer at the Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, California, Engineer Officer at Submarine Squadron Seven in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, andd Joint Doctrine Officer at U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida.
Commander Faulk's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal.
