USS PASADENA (SSN 752)
USS PASADENA (SSN 752) is the U.S. Navy's second "Improved" 688 Class nuclear-powered submarine. Originally assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, PASADENA conducted an inter-fleet transfer in October 1990 to San Diego, California and became an intergal part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet Submarine Force. Two years after it was commissioned, in July 1991 PASADENA became the first 688I to deploy, commencing its first of many six-month Western Pacific Deployments.

PASADENA's participation in exercises with various foreign navies from around the Pacific Rim have also produced numerous firsts for U.S. nuclear submarines and solidified the United States' important role in international maritime operations.
For the consistently outstanding performance of its many different crews during its numerous extended overseas deployments and operations in local waters throughout the last two decades, PASADENA has earned repeated accolades and awards. Among these awards are the Tactical "T," the Engineering "E," the Navigation "N," the Deck Seamanship "D," the Damage Control "DC," the Medical "M," the Battle Efficiency "E," the Navy Unit Commendation, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. While assigned to the shipyard, the crew earned the distinction of becoming the first submarine to win the Navy's Afloat Fleet Recreation Program's top award for the best Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Program.
PASADENA deployed to the Eastern Pacific in 2007 to conduct training, a Block IV Tomahawk test launch and acoustic trials in Ketchikan, AK. In the Fall of 2007, the ship deployed to the Western Pacific, attaining several firsts for the U.S. Navy and the Submarine Force. After conducting four missions vital to national security, PASADENA conducted the first ever port visit with the Royal Malaysian Navy in Sepangar, Malaysia and the first SSN port visit to Subic Bay, Philippines in eight years. Throughout 2007 and 2008 PASADENA conducted numerous significant exercises including SUBCOMP , SHIN KAME, SHAREM, RIMPAC and Submarine Command Course Operations.
