PORTLAND, Ore. (June 23, 2017) - Sailors from the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) receive instructions from an employee at Meals on Wheels resource center in Portland, June 23.  The Sailors volunteered in the kitchen to help prepare food, package the meals, clean dishes and other various tasks. Portland Welcomes USS Frank Cable Sailors for Annual Rose Festival

"One Ship, One Crew" Drives Frank Cable's Readiness Training

POLARIS POINT, Guam (April 5, 2016) – Boatswain's Mate 1st Class Michael Richmond, left, a native of Dallas, Texas, assigned to the Emory S. Land-class submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), teaches Personnel Specialist 3rd Class John Paul Delossantos, center, a native of Glendale, Arizona, how to operate a Naval Firefighter Thermal Imager while engulfed in mock smoke in the ship's carpenter shop during a fast cruise, April 5.  The fast cruise trains Sailors in damage control, personnel accountability and various emergency situations preparing them for underway at-sea operations.  Frank Cable, forward deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.

Joseph Aucoin, center, commander, U.S. 7th Fleet, returns a salute as he walks through the side boys as he comes aboard the Submarine Tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), Jan. 21.  Aucoin visited Frank Cable to see first hand the repair capabilities the ship offers to units in the 7th Fleet.  During the tour of the ship, Aucoin met with Frank Cable Sailors who demonstrated their shop's repair capabilities that are offered to submarines and surface ships.  Frank Cable, forward deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.

SANTA RITA, Guam (Dec. 19, 2015) Sailors and family members assigned to the Los Angeles class fast-attack submarine USS Key West (SSN 722), take photos of their children exploring a Guam Police Department vehicle during the first ever Team 15 Day event December 19.  Team 15 Day, hosted by Submarine Squadron 15, is an event that brings together Sailors and families from the submarine community on Guam to educate them on Navy support services and acclimate new arrivals to life on Guam.

USS Frank Cable Completes First Underway Replenishment in 10 Years

Mark Benjamin, center right, commanding officer of the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), approves the course Frank Cable will take to rendezvous with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14) to conduct an underway replenishment. This is the first underway replenishment for Frank Cable in ten years and will take on 280,000 gallons of fuel from Cesar Chavez.
