CDR Caleb Cramer

Commanding Officer

CDR Caleb CramerCDR Caleb Cramer was raised in Phoenicia, New York. He graduated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering, and was commissioned via the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is also a graduate of the Naval War College and the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School.

His operational tours include a Division Officer tour aboard USS SALT LAKE CITY (SSN-716), where he completed two western Pacific deployments and a decommissioning availability; Navy Provisional Detainee Battalion 3, where he served as a Detainee Compound Commander at Camp Bucca, Iraq; Navigator and Operations Officer aboard USS PITTSBURGH (SSN-720), where he completed a north Atlantic deployment; and as Executive Officer aboard USS MICHIGAN (SSGN-727)(BLUE), where he completed two western Pacific deployments and oversaw the first-ever integration of enlisted women into the submarine force.

Ashore, his assignments include staff officer at the Tactical Analysis Group at COMSUBDEVRON 12 in Groton, Connecticut; Functional Plans directorate at COMPACFLT headquarters in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and International Project Officer at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. His most recent assignment was Lead Future Operations Planner at COMPACFLT.

His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
