Pets

Guam is a rabies-free territory, and the government has strict quarantine requirements for importation of dogs and cats. Your primary contact when moving to Guam with pets is the Guam Department of Agriculture. If you plan to bring your pet with you, contact the Guam Department of Agriculture as soon as possible.

There are restrictions regarding the types of pets allowed to enter Guam, when they can fly and which airlines allow them onboard. Contact your designated airline as soon as possible for transporting prices and restrictions. The required quarantine period, documentation and vaccinations for your pet’s entry to Guam will vary depending on your location of origin and your pet’s history. Contact the Guam Department of Agriculture as soon as possible for specific guidance.

The quarantine period for incoming pets that have undergone proper preparations (vaccinations, immunizations and required documentation) is 120 days upon receiving results from the Rabies FAVN/Titer. However, with advanced planning and preparation, the quarantine period may be shortened to 30 days or 5 days in a commercial facility, such as the Andersen Pet Lodge on Andersen Air Force Base. Contact information for the Andersen Pet Lodge is as follows:

Contact the Guam Department of Agriculture to determine how you can expedite your pet’s quarantine period.

If proper preparations are not made with the Guam Department of Agriculture in advance of your move, your pet may be denied entry to Guam and may be sent back to your location of origin at your expense. If unable to reach the Department of Agriculture, contact your sponsor for their assistance.
